One of the things said to me as I left RP Data/ValEx was "Dan, you are into way too much detail".
I've been told that time and time again, but never had a good counter argument. It's hard to explain why making a link between two public websites which took about 12 months of championing to achieve is important; or fixing the login form to redirect you back to the original URI you were viewing are worthwhile.
I know from experience that small usability fixes like this can pay off in big ways - I've just had difficulty explaining what and why those matter.
I may finally have an answer: sweat the small stuff.
