I want to log conversations I've had via gaim/msn/whatever in gmail - if gtalk can manage it, surely it can be done with either a Google Desktop search extension or a gaim plugin.

Why is it that may are so keen about using gmail? Wouldnt the local workstation/laptop/imap-server be a better place form personal communication?

The appeal is that I can leave my laptop at home and go to work - my searchable list of conversations goes with me.
It's also a personal information store that's readily accessable from anywhere in the world to the right individual - me!
Finally, it's looked after for me - all I'm doing is typing a url in: no worrying about data loss, etc.
The guts of it: I can just use it with zero configuration. That *works* for me.
any luck finding something like this for gaim? i need it too. hit me up on gtalk. kev.wells@gmail.com
